New regulations are in place for students in Pike County.

Starting Monday, masks are now required for students, staff and visitors in the Pike County School Corporation.

The district announced on Facebook that the mandate will last for two weeks and applies to everyone regardless of vaccination or immunity status.

Officials also say the decision will allow for easier contract tracing and should reduce the number of individuals in quarantine.

The district plans to continue monitoring data for future decisions.

The full announcement can be found on the Pike County School Corporation's Facebook page.

Monday morning, we will see partly sunny skies with temperatures still in the mid 20°s. By the afternoon, we will be warming up into the mid 40°s with cloud coverage increasing. This is due to a cold front expected to traverse the tri-state overnight Monday.
