Police say 26-year-old D Yawn Dontae Griffin was arrested on Monday after reportedly waving a gun around in the parking lot of an east Evansville Taco Bell restaurant.

Officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to the restaurant on Monday around 9:15 p.m. after receiving a call from an employee there, who said a man was waving a gun around in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, they were able to find the suspect, who was identified as Griffin, in his vehicle. From a distance, police told him to exit his vehicle.

According to EPD, Griffin initially refused to exit the vehicle, making requests for officers to shoot him.

EPD says that when Griffin finally got out of the vehicle, he began doing pushups on the pavement before complying with officer's commands. He was then placed into custody without any further incident.

After Griffin was placed into custody, EPD says officers found a loaded handgun, six handgun magazines, and 117 rounds of ammunition inside his vehicle.

Police note that Griffin does currently possess a valid Indiana Concealed Carry License.

Griffin is now lodged in the Vanderburgh County Jail where he's charged with Felony Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon.
