Man Victim of Hit-and-Run at Evansville Donut Bank After Confronting Thief: EPD

The Evansville Police Department is looking for two individuals in connection to a theft/hit-and-run incident that took place at the Donut Bank on Diamond Avenue.

A theft/hit-and-run investigation is being conducted by the Evansville Police Department after an incident that took place at the Donut Bank on Diamond Avenue.

According to EPD, officers were dispatched to the bakery around 5:30 a.m on April 8 after receiving a call about a theft and a hit-and-run.

The victim, who was purchasing doughnuts at the time of the theft, told police that he saw the man seen in the photos above steal several items and walk out of the store.

EPD says that's when the caller confronted the accused thief in the parking lot about the theft. 

After a brief confrontation, EPD says the suspect jumped into the passenger side of a white car, at which point a female driver sped off from the parking lot, running over the victim's foot in the process.

Our Tuesday was nothing short of chilly, gloomy, gray and wintry throughout the Tri-State; afternoon high temperatures only reached as high as the middle to low 30s throughout the region. Our peak temperature of 32° in Evansville was 16° below the norm for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, cloud cover and cool air will linger - additionally, there have been reports of sporadic flurries on and off throughout the day and some portions in the Lower Ohio Valley may continue to see brief snow showers through 10 o’clock this evening. Our winds will shift southward overnight tonight into early Wednesday morning and while it won’t necessarily drive temperatures higher for the predawn hours, It will help keep temperatures from falling much further than where they currently stand.
