A Posey County man was sentenced to 12 years behind bars for dealing drugs, Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Posey County Prosecutor, Alex Dartt, 25, took a guilty plea after being caught with more than 100 grams of K2.

Dartt was pulled over for speeding in December 2020 and the drugs were found under the front passenger seat of the car.

"This was a routine traffic stop that led to a seizure of a large amount of K2," said Posey County Prosecutor Thomas Clowers. "I’m grateful for the work of the Posey County Sheriff’s Office in this case for removing these illegal drugs from our community.”

Dartt will be transported to the Indiana Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.

We woke up to dry and cold conditions this Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, there won’t be any drastic changes this afternoon. Increasing cloud cover will be likely as a cold northerly flow continues ushering in chilly air. Highs won’t be going very far, we’ll likely only reach the mid to upper 30s Tri-State wide. We’re tracking a little bit of winter weather out to our north and west. Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight with a chance of flurries/light rain. It won't be a big snow by any stretch, but you could see some flurries flying Tuesday night into Wednesday morning around the Tri-State. Don't expect more than a dusting, with greater chances falling north of I-64.
