On Tuesday, the Posey County Health Department said that the COVID-19 testing site located at 232 W. 2nd St. would be moving to a new location.
The testing site, which is jointly operated by PCHD and Deaconess, will be moving to the Mt. Vernon Medical Center, which is located at 1900 W. 4th St.
Additionally, hours of availability at the new testing location will be reduced. Testing will now be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the new location.
PCHD says the testing site is a drive-up location and asks anyone coming to get a test to remain in their vehicle at all times.
The health department says that while testing remains important, location change and reduced hours come due to the majority of time and resources being focused on vaccination efforts.
