As the beginning of the new school year approaches, students in Posey County received free backpacks and school supplies on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Family Matters of Posey County coordinated the supply giveaway, marking the 10th year the organization has provided K-12 students in the Posey County community with back to school supplies.

"The look on the kiddo's faces in the past years that we've had it - you can't believe how excited they are to get the things to go back to school," said Beth Russel, Director at Family Matters of Posey County.

"Families right now are struggling and will continue to struggle for a while, and this is one thing we can take off their plate," Russel went on to explain.

An abundance of other resources and events available to the Posey County community can be found on the Family Matters of Posey County website.
