The Patoka Township is contributing in a big way to the new YMCA that is being built in Princeton, Indiana.

The trustees of the township approved a $75,000 donation that will go towards programing and scholarships at the Toyota Indiana YMCA when it is completed.

The plan is to transform the former Lowell Elementary building on Water Street to house a wellness center, youth development areas, a community teaching kitchen, pool, and additional gymansium.

The project was announced in March of this year, as a partnership between Toyota Indiana and the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana. TMMI has committed $1 million dollars to the new facility as part of a larger committment to growing Gibson County.

The new YMCA is expected to be completed in early 2023.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
