COVID-19 testing is underway for Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Red Bank staff and the branch will be closed through at least Sept. 20.

The temporary closure comes after EVPL originally said on Monday that a Red Bank team member who last worked Sept. 3 had tested positive for COVID-19.

On Tuesday, EVPL said that its Red Bank location would be closed through at least Sept. 20 and that employees identified as having "close contact with a person with lab-confirmed COVID-19" had been asked to self-isolate, work from home, and continue to complete daily health checks.

Workers spent Tuesday sanitizing EVPL's Red Bank location. EVPL officials say the Red Bank location will undergo additional cleaning before its reopening.
