The Warrick County Sheriff's Office says its deputies arrested an Evansville man after a brief chase early Friday morning.
According to WCSO, it all started around 1:21 a.m. on Friday morning when a deputy tried to stop a grey van for driving erratically near the intersection of SR 66 and SR 261.
The sheriff's office says the driver looked like he was going to stop, but that he then accelerated and tried to get away from the deputy.
A short pursuit took place down Vann Road onto SR 61, where authorities deployed stop sticks that hit the van's tires.
Once the tires were flat, the sheriff's office says the driver pulled into the Boonville Middle School access road and ran from the van.
The sheriff's office says the suspect was caught by a deputy and his K9 partner and identified as 37-year-old Joseph Mangold of Evansville.
After being treated for minor injuries, the sheriff's office says Mangold was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony), Criminal Recklessness (Class B Misdemeanor) and Reckless Driving (Class C Misdemeanor).
