With all of today's scattered rainfall and added cloud cover, temperatures had a tough time climbing much higher than the mid to low 80s across the region; we reached 84° in Evansville earlier on. Drier weather is expected to persist though the overnight and early morning hours; after kicking off your morning with a low near 72° under overcast conditions, another round of scattered showers and storms will develop beginning around your lunch hour.
Despite the chance of rainfall, temperatures should trend slightly warmer for our Thursday; many of us will see the mercury top out in the mid to upper 80s. Be sure to keep the umbrella handy for our Friday as well, scattered rain will redevelop that day with temperatures nearing 86°. Following a drier, clearer Saturday, rain will once again find its way back into the Tri-State come Sunday due to a passing cold front.
That passing cold front, while possibly putting a damper on some of your weekend plans, is also expected to usher cooler more comfortable weather back into the Ohio Valley! Finally, temperatures are expected to take a downturn early next week, first dipping into the lower 80s on Monday before heading for the mid to low 70s by next Tuesday and Wednesday.
