Another day in paradise, am I right? High temperatures in the mid to low 80s with virtually no humidity - it doesn't get much better than this. Unfortunately, these conditions aren't expected to last much longer. The core of high pressure that has maintained our cool, clear and comfortable conditions (as well as our northerly wind flow) is slowly pushing further toward the Eastern Seaboard. As that occurs, our winds will begin to shift.
Today's northeasterly wind flow will give way to more of an easterly wind flow tomorrow and eventually weak southerly winds by the time we kick off the weekend ahead. That gradual shift will allow heat and humidity to slowly creep its way back into the Tri-State. Expect highs in the mid 80s Friday with heat indices near 90° at times - some of us may also see some stray showers or storms on Friday and Saturday.
While Saturday looks as though it will be a virtual repeat of our Friday, Sunday looks clearer and hotter. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s that day and heat indices may surpass 90° at times. By the time next Monday and Tuesday roll around, we're going to be dreaming of days like today. Afternoon highs will peak near 90° those two days, but it may end up feeling as hot as 95° with the added humidity.
Enjoy the pleasant weather while it lasts.
