Rain Ushers in Fall

Scattered rainfall will give way to fall-like weather.

Scattered rainfall continues to affect portions of the Tri-State and it seems as though it will continue to do so through the remainder of the evening and overnight. After reaching an afternoon high near 80° earlier on, expect temperatures to gradually fall toward 70° by dinnertime before dwindling into the mid 60s by 10 o'clock. Overnight lows will dive all the way back down into the upper 50s by the predawn hours Wednesday; we'll fall to 58° in Evansville. The cold front and associated low responsible for all of our rain chances both today and tonight is expected to stall stall Wednesday, prolonging our isolated rain chances tomorrow, especcially for those of us north and east of Evasnville.

Scattered rainfall may linger for some of the communities across the northeastern quarter of the region through Wednesday afternoon, though the majority of the Tri-State will witness gradually decreasing cloud cover and a breezy northwesterly wind flow. Tomorrow's Autumnal Equinox, the offical kickoff to the fall season will feel every bit like Autumn in the Tri-State - the combination of rainfall, cloud cover and those northerly winds will make for a particularly cool afternoon - Evansville's anticipated high temperature of 61° would mark our coolest afternoon in the River City since May 29th; that's nearly 4 months ago! Our coldest morning low since the end of May (47°) early Thursday will set the stage for an absolutly gorgeous afternoon! Thursday will be 69°, sunny and breezy!

Winds will gust as high 35 MPH through the afternoon. The stronger southerly winds will assist in milder afternoon highs. Temperatures will max in the upper-50s and low-60s with partly cloudy skies. Rain will be arriving by 3AM Thanksgiving morning.
