Those who have taken a standard COVID-19 test may have waited close to 72 hours to receive their test results - but with new rapid-result COVID-19 testing now being offered in Dubois County, test results will be available in a fraction of the time.
Rapid-result testing began Tuesday at the Dubois-Spencer-Matin County COVID-19 Testing site, which is located at the former Ruxer's golf course building at 400 South Clay St. in Jasper, Indiana.
The rapid tests, which are administered by nasal swab, aren't available to everyone - as you must take the test within the first seven days of your first symptom.

Health officials say that after receiving the test, results will be available within 15 - 30 minutes.
Testing at the site is available Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., but testing won't be offered on Jan. 1, 2021.
With Dubois County in the state's COVID-19 Red Zone, local health leaders hope the rapid-result test will help slow the spread of the virus heading into the new year.
