Officials with Reitz Memorial High School announced on Saturday that a student of the school had tested positive for COVID-19.
The announcement was made in the form of a letter addressed to parents and guardians of students at the school. The letter sent by the school says the student who tested positive is in isolation and will return to class at the appropriate time.
Close contacts of the COVID-positive student have also been notified and will be self-quarantining, the letter from the school said.
Multiple other schools in the Tri-State area have reported positive cases of COVID-19 in both students and staff alike, including South Terrace Elementary School and Mt. Vernon High School in Posey County, Diocese of Evansville Catholic Schools, Signature School, and more.
