A road closure is now in place in downtown Evansville, Indiana, ahead of the demolition of the Sycamore Building.

NW 4th Street between Main Street and Sycamore Street will remain closed to all traffic until Tuesday, Sept. 28.

Officials say the closure is to allow for the setting of a crane and to protect the buildings and public in the area of the Sycamore Building during its exterior demolition.

Interior demolition of the Sycamore Building began back in August.

As for the demolition of the 18-story-tall 420 Main Building, it's set to be imploded on Sunday, Nov. 21.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
