Prices for school supplies are at all time highs.
Experts in the industry say the reason for this jump in prices is due to the supply chain being shut down during the pandemic.
On average, parents of K-12 students are expected to spend nearly $850 per household on school supplies thie year. The biggest jump in spending is expected to come from electronics and clothing.
Sean Gendreau has a son in the EVSC this year. He was surprised by the higher than normal prices.
"It sounds crazy to me. Just going back to school, I don't think you should have to spend nearly a thousand dollars so it kind of blows my mind to hear that number," said Gendreau.
Since his son is only entering kindergarten, Gendreau's school supply list was somewhat small. He is worried that prices will continue to rise over the years.
