Arrest Made After Man Found Shot Inside of Mt. Vernon Home

Police are investigating after a man was found shot inside of a Mount Vernon Home on West 4th Street on Tuesday.

Mount Vernon Police say an arrest has been made in connection to a Tuesday afternoon shooting.

Police say no other details will be released at this time, however a press conference will be scheduled for further updates.

This comes after the Mt. Vernon Police Department were called to a shooting in the 400 block of West 4th St.

The shooting was reported just after noon on Tuesday.

When police responded to the scene, they found a male who had been shot inside of a West 4th St. home.

The man who was shot was hospitalized but his current condition remains unknown at this time.

The nature of the shooting is currently undetermined, but police say there's no immediate danger to the public.

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
