Firework Stands Experiencing Shortage In Fireworks
The pandemic has caused several shortages, including lumber and even chicken wings and there's now another shortage, fireworks.
As the 4th of July approaches fireworks are in demand, but some people may not be able to their hands on them.
Several fireworks shops throughout the country and in Indiana are experiencing a shortage of the product, causing people to travel hours away just to stock up for the upcoming holiday.
Owner of Dreamland Fireworks, David Baize, said luckily Evansville has not experienced this problem but believes this shortage is tied to last years demand.
"Last year everybody went crazy for fireworks and there was none left in the country," said Baize. "So it's just been trickling in a little bit at a time and you know by the time everybody's ready to buy there should be plenty for everybody."
As a result of the low stock, prices of fireworks have increased at fireworks shops.
Baize said he is trying to keep prices at Dreamland reasonable.
