A Tri-State Fire Department is receiving some essentials for the upcoming wildfire season.

The Smith Mills Volunteer Fire Department received canned emergency drinking water this morning to help provide critical hydration to responders.

Edward Utley Junior Inc., a local a Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partner, dropped off 196 cases to the local department to help support its wildfire response needs.

Officials say maintaining firefighters' hydration during long incidents or disasters is a major safety concern for many departments.

The Smith Mills Volunteer Fire Department says they respond to approximately 25 brush/wildland fires yearly.
