Bring out the umbrellas and rainboots! Heavy rainfall mixed in with freezing rain is taking over the Tri-State this morning. Rain will continue to pick up in intensity through the morning hours, just in time to disrupt your rush hour commute. Widespread heavy downpours will be long lasting by midday. The threat of flash flooding will be something we will be monitoring especially in low-lined communities.
There is even a low-end threat of stronger storms for parts of the Tri-State. Locations south of the Ohio River are under a "1" on the Treat Index of Severe Weather. These storms could produce small-to-medium size hail and flooding. The window of seeing those intense storms will be between the hours of 4PM and 8PM. The overall rain threat will ultimately conclude by midnight. We could receive 1-2" of rain. Sunshine returns tomorrow.
