Posey County Sheriff's Deputy Bryan Hicks is still fighting for his life in the intensive care unit at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

To help out his family during this heartbreaking time, a fundraiser was held for them at Leroy's Tavern in Evansville Saturday afternoon, called Soup for Bryan.

Musician Angel Rhodes performed as people donated to the heroic deputy. Hicks was shot in the head last weekend while on a welfare call in New Harmony.

"We don't want them to have to worry about finances," said Terri Carl, owner of Leroy's Tavern. "We want them to love each other and get healing and just get on with their life. There's no way to explain our Leroy's Family. Our Leroy's family is second to none. When something happens to one of us, it happens to all of us."

Anyone who wants to donate to the deputy can also write a check to the Posey County FOP.

A line of sustained to heavy rainfall is expected to push northeastward across the Tri-State between the hours 7AM and 11AM Thursday morning; be sure to pack an umbrella early tomorrow, as that timeline will fall during your morning commute Thursday. After the initial line of rain exits east of the region, we'll continue to see periods of scattered rainfall throughout our Thursday afternoon and evening. Unfortunately, the same can be said for our Friday - lower pressure slowly spinning eastward will stall the rainfall and prolong our precip chances as we head into Friday afternoon and evening. It looks as though those chances of rainfall throughout our Friday will be sporadic at best and shouldn't lead to any significant disruption to those Friday night football games.
