Fire Destroys Garage in Vanderburgh County

The detached garage was a total loss.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says a detached garage caught fire earlier today around 12:30 p.m. at 8015 Houge Rd.

The Perry Township fire district contained the fire within 30 minutes.

It is unclear right now how the fire started. The detached garage is considered to be a total loss. According to the sheriff's office,  the garage was nearly empty when the fire broke out.

According to fire officials, the blaze is still under investigation.  No one was hurt.
