It's nice to see lots of sunshine on this Wednesday! It's cold out there, but it's definitely our best morning this week. As you head out the door, make sure to bundle up as temperatures are still in the low to mid 20s. This afternoon looks warmer and pretty seasonable. High temperatures will tip the scales at 41° in the River City. Winds will start to shift out of the south, but should stay on the calmer side.

The mostly sunny skies and weak southerly wind flow will allow for warmer weather today and help keep temperatures closer to the upper 20s overnight. In fact, temperatures are even expected to surge Thursday as a warm front pushes north of the Ohio Valley, but it comes at a price. Heavy rainfall will settle in over the region late Thursday morning and continue through the rest of the day. The rain will finally come to and end after a cold front swings through the Tri-State late that evening, but there is a possibility of seeing some light flurries and wintry mix lingering into the remainder of the night. It shouldn't cause any issues as it looks to be quite minimal at this time.

Our snowy, slick start to the day gave way to a gloomy, gray and chilly afternoon throughout the Tri-State. After only reaching temperatures in the mid 30s early in the day, we will see temperatures gradually tumble back down into the upper 20s by 10 o’clock. Despite the gradual clearing conditions overnight (which would normally lead too a much colder morning), the mercury is expected to remain relatively stable into early Tuesday morning. The return of a southerly wind flow overnight will help keep the temperatures milder as we head towards daybreak.
