The suspect shot and killed Friday during the police action shooting on Stringtown Road in Evansville has been identified as 43-year-old Peter Russell of Evansville and Princeton, IN according to the Vanderburgh County Coroner.
According to police, Russell was armed and fired his handgun at officers a number of times.

The man was shot by an Evansville Police Department Officer and a Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Deputy after failing to comply with officers' commands.
The sheriff's office says the suspect crashed into the back of a sheriff's patrol vehicle, before also crashing into a telephone pole.
A woman was in the car with Russell at the time, its unclear her involvement, if any. The woman was not injured.
Officers were attempting to serve a federal warrant for the subject's arrest on drug-related charges.
