Another retail giant has announced its doors will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Target announced on Monday that it will close all of its stores for thanksgiving as a way to thank its employees. The Thanksgiving closure is also an attempt to increase safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic during the normally-crowded shopping season.

In the statement released by Target on Monday, the company also announced that its holiday deals would be available earlier than usual (in October) as a way to compensate for the thanksgiving closure, and again, in an attempt to reduce crowds of shoppers coming into the store at one time.
Target's decision to close for Thanksgiving Day came one week after nationwide retailer Walmart made the same decision.
