A juvenile was taken into custody in Henderson in connection to a vehicle reported stolen from a local elementary school.

The Henderson Police Department says that on Tuesday, officers spotted a 2017 Nissan Titan truck that had been reported stolen from South Heights Elementary School on Friday.

HPD says the vehicle tried to evade officers and eventually pulled into an empty lot in the 100 block of South Alvasia Street, at which point the driver fled the scene.

The driver was later located at a nearby residence. HPD says that after officers surrounded the residence, the suspect gave up and exited.

According to HPD, the 17-year-old boy seen driving the stolen truck was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $10,000 and lodged into the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.
