Two people, including a woman from the Tri-State area, are being charged in Kentucky in connection to the death of a 5-year-old child.
The Meade County Sheriff's Office says it responded to a home in Payneville, Kentucky after someone reported a 5-year-old boy there was not breathing.
A citation from the sheriff's department says that the boy was taken to the hospital in Harrison County, Indiana, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the sheriff's department, the Harrison County Coroner's Office was contacted to complete the death investigation for the child, and preliminary results indicated blunt force trauma was the cause of death.
The coroner's office later identified the child as 5-year-old Braydon Irwin.
Authorities say that the child's mother, 28-year-old Kayla Irwin of Tell City, Indiana was arrested in connection to Braydon's death, along with her boyfriend, 40-year-old Daniel Clemans of Payneville.

The sheriff's department says that the child was in the care of Irwin and Clemans when he was injured and that both are being charged with Complicity to Murder.
