Sunshine and southerly winds made for a gorgeous day across the Tri-State - we topped out at 74° earlier this afternoon and will remain quite mild overnight. Cloud cover rolling back into the region due to an advancing cold front will make for a grey Thursday overall, but pleasant weather is expected to persist despite the partly sunny skies. Thursday looks as though it will be 69°. The main story over the next several days however, will be a dominating core of high pressure camped out over the Eastern Seaboard that will keep conditions quiet for our neck of the woods while gradually driving temperatures higher.
After failing to climb out of the 60s tomorrow, we'll achieve that task come Friday - crystal clear skies and a weak southerly wind flow will help boost temperatures back into the low 70s for many of us that afternoon (we'll tip the scales at a very comfortable 71° in Evansville). The weekend ahead looks even warmer - Saturday will be 72° and sunny while Sunday tops out at 75° under partly cloudy skies. In fact, afternoon highs will routinely reach temperatures ranging from 7° to 16° above their average heights between now and next Tuesday! Enjoy.
