Our cloudy start to our Tuesday gave way to what was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon and evening. Despite the added sunshine earlier on, temperatures only reached as high as the mid 70s for many of us, quite the cooldown as compared to recent days. That being said, today's peak temperature of 76° remained a few degrees above the norm for this time of the year. The evening ahead looks as though it will remain quite pleasant - after seeing temperatures around 70° at dinnertime, the mercury will dip toward the low 60s by 10PM. Overnight low temperatures will again fall back into the mid 50s for many of us, marking another cool start to the day here in the Ohio Valley.
We'll have a similarly overcast start to our Wednesday, though our cloud cover won't linger for just the late morning or early afternoon - Mostly cloudy to overcast conditions will hang on through our midweek allowing for isolated rainfall to affect the Tri-State. The best chances for rain Wednesday will occur during the late morning and early afternoon, though we may feel sprinkles on and off throughout the day. Scattered rainfall will continue to push across the region come Thursday and Friday as well. The combination of a warm front (Wednesday), a stalling cold front (Thursday) and another passing core of low pressure (Friday) will make for a particularly damp 2nd half of the work week. By the time it's all said and done Friday night, some areas could be left with as much as 0.75" of rain.
Fortunately, our weekend ahead looks nothing short of flawless. With the last of that rainfall exiting east of the Tri-State Friday night, drier and clearer air will settle back in across the region and allow conditions to rapidly improve. The latest model data suggests that our Saturday and Sunday will be nothing short of stunning! One can expect afternoon highs in the mid to upper 60s with plenty of sunshine and a nice northwesterly breeze both days. It'll be a perfect fall-like weekend for a trip to the pumpkin patch or just lounging in your favorite sweatshirt!
