Third Arrest Made After Father Accuses Sons of Assault

According to EPD, the third suspect was arrested with a suitcase full of marijuana and THC vape cartridges and is facing additional charges.

Evansville Police have made a third arrest following a Sunday assault at a home on Ruston Avenue that left the victim shot and another man with a cut to his face.

Adam Longway was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail, Tuesday afternoon. He had been hiding from officers since 911 was called on Sunday afternoon.

Longway along with his brother Michael Longway and friend Markus Murphy are charged with battery.

According to the affidavit, the three confronted the victim demanding he move out of the home. Murphy told investigators, the brothers wanted the victim out of the house because he has a history of domestic violence against the brothers' mother.

However, the argument turned violent. According to the victim, he was beaten unconscious by the group when he refused to leave. When he woke, he grabbed a knife from the kitchen and tried to leave the house.

He told police the three men were blocking the front door. While trying to passby the group, the victim cut Murphy across the face with the kitchen knife. According to the victim, that's when he was shot from behind by Adam Longway. He was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his hip and leg.

The brothers ran from the scene before officers arrived. Michael Longway turned himself in on Monday.

His brother, Adam was tracked down by police to a parking lot on S. Weinbach Avenue on Tuesday. Longway was found with a suitcase containing 28 vape THC cartridges and 87 grams of marijuana.

In addition to the battery charges, Adam Longway is also charged with dealing marijuana.
