Evansville Thunderbolts Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Bes announced today the resigning of Goaltender Brian Billett for the 2021-2022 season as the Ford Center. Billett will join previously announced signee, Austin Plevy.
Billett, 6 foot, 190-pound netminder, spent 15 games with the Thunderbolts during the 2019-2020 season, registering a .917 save percentage. “We are definitely excited to have Brian back in the net this season as he is consistently one of the top goalies in our league. His experience and work ethic are second to none, and the leadership he brings both on and off the ice are vital to our organization’s success,” explained Bes.
Billett was placed on the team’s protected player list in May.
“I’m thrilled to be coming back to Evansville for another year of hockey. The ownership and overall organization has treated me very well so it wasn’t a hard decision,” said Billett. “I’m looking forward to seeing our fans in the arena and continue the momentum we had at the end of the 2020 season. I think Coah Bes did an incredible job giving the team a new identity and my teammates bought into it,” he continued.
Home Opener is Friday October 22nd at 7pm CST.
