The threat of scattered snow showers are on the table tonight but it will be isolated. The best locations to see overnight flakes will be for our eastern communities south and along the Ohio (Owensboro, Tell City, Central City). Little to no accumulation is expected. However, chances for scattered flurries and snow showers will continue for the area through the daylight hours tomorrow.
The combination of gray skies and northerly winds will confine afternoon highs in the mid 30s regionwide. Temperatures will eventually plummet into the 20s by daybreak Saturday. The weekend unfortunately will serve up much more of the same. Peaks of sunshine cannot be ruled out for both Saturday and Sunday. Although, the cold airmass will remain stubborn and limit highs in the mid-to-upper 30s for the weekend and even for the top part of next workweek.
