As the Christmas holiday approaches the Coronvirus continues to plague the Tri-State.
Christmas Eve the Indiana Department of Health says there are 6,288 new cases of COVID-19.
Sadly, there were 85 new deaths Thursday.
As of December 24, there were 482,734 confirmed cases and 7,391 total deaths.
According to health leaders there were four people from Vanderburgh County, one person from Warrick County, one person from Gibson County, and one person from Spencer County who died from COVID-19.
Locally the numbers are staggering, the virus continuing to rock our southern Indiana counties, as of Thursday there are 160 new cases in Vanderburgh County, 102 new cases in Dubois County, 70 new cases in Warrick County, 25 new cases in both Gibson and Spencer counties, 17 new cases in both Posey and Pike counties, and 16 new cases in Perry County.

Vanderburgh County - 14,367 cases, 188 deaths
Warrick County - 4,831 cases, 86 deaths
Dubois County - 4,203 cases, 40 deaths
Gibson County - 2,865 cases, 50 deaths
Posey County - 1,758 cases, 26 deaths
Spencer County - 1,344 cases, 12 deaths
Perry County - 1,124 cases, 21 deaths
Pike County - 52 cases, 23 deaths
