A 17-year-old was shot in Owensboro Sunday.
He was one of the lucky ones to survive.
15-year-old Corban Henry -- who was shot while riding a moped in August -- was not.
While 16-year-old Dakota Carter died hours after being shot in the head in Dawson Springs last week.
Police arrested 19-year-old Mike Roche in connection with Carter’s death.
“It is a very concerning trend,” said Officer Andrew Boggess, the public information officer for the Owensboro Police Department. “Particularly when there is a juvenile involved -- both as victims and sometimes they're also the suspect or the perpetrator in it as well.”
Investigators are noticing a common theme among these teen shooting cases.
"It's typically drugs. It's not isolated to Owensboro,” Boggess said. “That's a trend we're seeing nationwide now.”
Community members are so shaken -- they have taken to social media -- creating groups to help stop the violence.
"That's a critical part of this,” Boggess said. “Not just community involvement in trying to prevent but from our end in community involvement -- getting us the information -- a lot of times individuals may know something about what occurred.”
Police have no suspects so far in the shooting of the 17-year-old victim -- who survived -- and are asking from help from the public.
