Several River City theater companies are coming together for a special performance.
The Evansville Civic Theater, StageTwo Productions, and The Children's Theater of Southern Indiana, worked together for a ten hour "Hearts for the Arts" Telethon Saturday.
The event helped to raise funds needed to keep doors open as COVID-19 continues to limit shows from having an in-person audience.
"It's not just our theatre that is important, it's all the theaters in this area that's important," says Kevin Roach, Evansville Civic Theater Artistic Director. "We all present different type of programs, and we realize we all have to work together if we're going to survive the pandemic. So that's where this was kind of born from; different organizations kind of coming together and saying let's not do something separate, but as one."
Anyone who missed out on the telethon can still donate to the theater companies.
The Evansville Civic Theater is also still hosting "Talent Tuesdays" every week on social media showcasing local artists.
