Two Notre Dame Football Players Test Positive for COVID-19

Both players are in isolation; seven other football players are in quarantine.

Notre Dame football has announced that two football student-athletes have tested positive for COVID-19.

The two players are in isolation, with their parents have been informed.

The players were among the 117 football student-athletes that were tested on Monday, August 10th.  Of the two players, one was mildly sympotomatic and the other was asymtomatic.

In addition, seven football student-athletes are in quarantine.  All seven remain asymptomatic.

Overall, Notre Dame has test 619 members  of the football and athletic department staff.  So far, they have only had four positive tests for COVID-19, including the two this week.  The two previous cases were other student-athletes who have already recovered.
