According to an update from the Owensboro Police Department on Tuesday, two teenagers from Owensboro have been charged in connection to the shooting death of 15-year-old Aaron Michael Aull Jr., who was found dead with a single gunshot wound in October.

OPD said Tuesday that a 17-year-old was charged with Reckless Homicide as a result of their involvement in Aull Jr.'s death.

Additionally, a 16-year-old has been charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Aull Jr.'s body was found on Oct. 24 in a residence in the 2200 block of E. 19th Street. OPD said Tuesday that both juveniles were inside the home when officers arrived and intentionally misled detectives during the investigation.

No further details were released by police in Tuesday's update, though police did say previously that Aull Jr.'s death was believed to be accidental.

It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon throughout the Tri-State, but despite our seemingly endless supply of sunshine today, temperatures remained more than 10° cooler than the norm for this time of the year. Fortunately, today's peak temperature of 65° represents our coolest anticipated afternoon high temperature through the remainder of our extended forecast. While it is indeed encouraging that temperatures will gradually rise through the rest of the work week into the weekend ahead, we'll still have to deal with temperatures back down into the upper 30s and low 40s early Thursday morning.
