University of Southern Indiana Women's Basketball senior guard Emma DeHart (Indianapolis, Indiana) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division II Academic All-District IV team in a vote by the Midwest Region's sports information directors.
A soon-to-be four-time Academic All-GLVC honoree, DeHart earns her first-career CoSIDA Academic All-GLVC honor after averaging a team-best 16.1 points and 3.3 assists per contest. She was collected her second consecutive All-GLVC honor in March, earning first-team accolades in 2020-21 after grabbing second-team All-GLVC honors in 2019-20.
DeHart, who has a 3.91 GPA as an elementary education major, hit double-figures in the scoring column 13 times this season, reaching the 20-point plateau four times and recording a career-high 39 points in USI's 96-86 overtime win over Rockhurst University in February.
Her 39 points against Rockhurst were the most for a USI Women's Basketball player since Amie Newhart dropped in 39 points in a triple-overtime game against Indianapolis in January of 2011 and tied for the third-most in program history, only trailing LeAnn Freedland's historic two-game stretch in which she put up 50 points two-days after scoring 46 in January of 1995.
DeHart, who will return for her fifth year of eligibility due to NCAA COVID-19 rules, advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. She will enter the 2021-22 season ranked seventh all-time at USI in three-point field goal attempts (341), 11th in made three-pointers (110) and 21st in scoring (905).
