Several postal trucks could be seen sitting in downtown Evansville on Wednesday after being severely damaged in the devastating storms that took place on Friday night in western Kentucky.

The United States Postal Service told us that that the trucks were from different parts of western Kentucky that were hit by the storms and tornadoes.

Right now, USPS officials are assessing the damage caused to the trucks. We're told that they're looking to see if some of the trucks can be repaired, though some must be replaced entirely.

It's unclear exactly how many of the damaged trucks will be dropped off in Evansville as more of the destruction in western Kentucky is uncovered.

If you're looking for ways to donate/help victims of the destruction, you can find several ways to do so here.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day across the Tri-State; temperatures climbed back into the upper 40s low 50s area-wide earlier this afternoon. Evansville‘s afternoon high temperature of 49° was our warmest in nearly a week. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will be relatively stable as a breezy southerly wind continues to bolster the mercury throughout the region; temperatures around 42° at dinner time will only fall as low as 41° by midnight. An inbound cold front moving in overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning will begin to generate chances of rainfall as early as the predawn hours on Wednesday.
