A Union County man was arrested on Sunday after the Union County Sheriff's Office says he called 911 and said he had shot his wife.

After that 911 call was made, deputies with UCSO were dispatched to a home on N Main St. in Sturgis, where the man, who was identified as 45-year-old James M. Auenson, was found with his 43-year-old wife.

The sheriff's office says Auenson's wife was taken from the home to Deaconess Midtown for a gunshot wound to the chest, adding that the altercation between the two had been videotaped on a cell phone.

Auston was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault and Domestic Violence.

He is currently being held in the Webster County Jail on no bond.
