Update in an October Crash That Killed a Jasper Woman on Riding Lawn-Mower

The county prosecutor has filed Reckless Driving Charges against Joann Voelkel.

An update has been released by the Dubois County Prosecutor's Office into a deadly October 2020 crash in Jasper that killed a woman while on a riding lawnmower.  

60-year-old Ruth Meyer was driving the lawnmower near County Road 675 when Joann Voelkel crossed the median, eventually hitting Meyer.

The Dubois County Prosecutor has since filed Reckless Driving charges against Voelkel.

We woke up to dry and cold conditions this Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, there won’t be any drastic changes this afternoon. Increasing cloud cover will be likely as a cold northerly flow continues ushering in chilly air. Highs won’t be going very far, we’ll likely only reach the mid to upper 30s Tri-State wide. We’re tracking a little bit of winter weather out to our north and west. Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight with a chance of flurries/light rain. It won't be a big snow by any stretch, but you could see some flurries flying Tuesday night into Wednesday morning around the Tri-State. Don't expect more than a dusting, with greater chances falling north of I-64.
