Vanderburgh Co. Reports Two New COVID-19 Deaths, 42 New Positive Cases

Two new COVID-19 deaths and 42 new positive cases of coronavirus were reported in Vanderburgh County on July 31.

There were two new COVID-19 deaths reported in Vanderburgh County on Friday, July 31, by the Indiana State Department of Health.

That brought Vanderburgh County's number of COVID-19 deaths to 10 in total to date - since the first death was reported in the county by ISDH on April 6.

Additionally, 42 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in Vanderburgh County on Friday - which brought Vanderburgh County's total number of identified positive cases to 1,621 - up from 1,579 total positive cases since Thursday's report.

So far, 25,234 total Vanderburgh County residents have been tested for COVID-19, which shows a county-wide positivity rate of 6.4% (The number of total tests divided by the number of total positive cases.)

From July 7 to July 31, Vanderburgh County's COVID-19 positivity rate has increased from 4% to 6.4%.

Indiana Statewide COVID-19 Update

Statewide in Indiana on Friday, 912 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported by ISDH.

That brings the total number of Indiana residents known to have contracted the novel coronavirus to date to 66,154 in total.

19 new COVID-19 deaths were also reported throughout Indiana on Friday by ISDH.

A total of 2,765 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19.

747,383 total Indiana residents have now been tested for COVID-19 - showing a statewide positivity rate of 8.9%.

According to ISDH, 42.4% of ICU beds and 84.1% of ventilators were available statewide as of Friday.
