In Vanderberburgh County on Wednesday, there were 67 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported by the state health department. According to the Indiana State Department of Health, the last time the county saw that low of an increase in new positive cases of the virus was just over a week ago on Oct. 5, when 65 new positive cases of the virus were confirmed.
There was, however, one new COVID-19 death reported in Vanderburgh County on Wednesday. That brought the total number of residents of the county known to have died from the virus so far to 46.
Here are the other increases reported locally by ISDH on Wednesday:
- Daviess County: 7 new positive cases
- Dubois County: 4 new positive cases
- Gibson County: 7 new positive cases
- Knox County: 5 new positive cases
- Perry County: 1 new positive case
- Posey County: 18 new positive cases
- Spencer County: 1 new positive case
- Warrick County: 21 new positive cases
Throughout the state of Indiana in its entirety, there were 1,172 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported on Wednesday. According to the state health department, that brought the total number of Hoosiers known to have contracted COVID-19 so far to 139,269.
Including the death reported locally in Vanderburgh County, there were 14 new COVID-19 deaths reported throughout Indiana on Wednesday. So far, 3,609 total Indiana residents are confirmed to have died from COVID-19 by ISDH.
