This year, proceeds will benefit Posey County Deputy Bryan Hicks and family.

Deputy Hicks was shot in the line of duty in September and suffered a critical wound that he is still recovering from.

The incident was personal for Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies, not only because Deputy Hicks was in law enforcement, but because his brother, Confinement Officer Drew Hicks is one of VCSO’s own.

The event, which will take place on Thursday December 2nd at Oak Meadow Country Club, plans to also give back to the Santa Clothes Club, Riley Children’s Hospital, and the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

Tickets are $50 a person. Food and beverages will be provided.

Checks can be made payable to the Sheriff’s Office.

For more information on how you can donate, call the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some higher amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
