Vehicle Pulled From Ohio River After Water Rescue

Police confirmed at least one person was inside. Emergency crews did not open the vehicle immediately after pulling it from the water.

First responders in Henderson pulled a vehicle out of the Ohio River Friday night after witnesses called 911 to report it plunged into the water from the boat ramp.

The incident happened at the boat ramp along the downtown Henderson Riverfront at Water and 2nd Street.

Witnesses say it went into the Ohio River around 7:40 p.m.

Crews pulled it out around 9:15 p.m.

Police confirmed at least one person was inside. Emergency crews did not open the vehicle immediately after pulling it from the water. Police tell 44News they were going to bring the vehicle to a secure location before opening the doors.

The Henderson County Coroner was among the personnel on scene.

The stretch of dry weather will be extended into the workweek. Expect a high of 87° Monday. Highs will continue to make a run towards the 90-degree mark on both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Cooler and seasonal air does not return until Friday and the weekend.
