Following news of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania testing positive for COVID-19, a press secretary has confirmed both Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence have tested negative.

Pence's Press Secretary Devin O'Malley tweeted his results this morning.

“Vice President Pence remains in good health and wishes the Trumps well in their recovery.”

Pence tweeted a brief statement in response to the president’s positive test.

“Karen and I send our love and prayers to our dear friends President @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS Melania Trump."

He also added “We join millions across America praying for their full and swift recovery. God bless you President Trump & our wonderful First Lady Melania.”

Those working closely with the President will be monitored closely after making several campaigns stops this week.

President Trump's physician issued a memo stating, the President and First Lady, "are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”

At 74 years of age, the President is considered at a higher risk of suffering complications from the virus.
