Man Shot and Left for Dead on Parrett Street Identified by Coroner

Police are treating a Thursday night shooting that happened on Parrett Street as a homicide after a 47-year-old Evansville man died from his injuries.

The Evansville Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting incident that happened on Parrett Street Thursday, March 19th, after they said Friday that the victim of the shooting had died due to his injuries.

The incident happened in the 1400 block of Parrett Street near Riverside Drive on Thursday around 6:00 p.m.

EPD Officers were dispatched to the area for a shots fired call, and found a wounded victim in the street upon their arrival.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner on Friday identified the victim as 47-year-old Donald Ray Brigham of Evansville, Indiana.

The coroner says Brigham died at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, where he was being treated for gunshot wounds late Thursday night.

Brigham's autopsy is scheduled to take place at a later time on Friday.

It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon throughout the Tri-State, but despite our seemingly endless supply of sunshine today, temperatures remained more than 10° cooler than the norm for this time of the year. Fortunately, today's peak temperature of 65° represents our coolest anticipated afternoon high temperature through the remainder of our extended forecast. While it is indeed encouraging that temperatures will gradually rise through the rest of the work week into the weekend ahead, we'll still have to deal with temperatures back down into the upper 30s and low 40s early Thursday morning.
