Wabash County Reports First COVID-19 Death

The first COVID-19 death in Wabash County, Illinois, was reported on Monday, Aug. 17.

Local health officials in Wabash County, Illinois, are reporting the county's first COVID-19 death.

A statement released by the Wabash County Health Department on Monday confirmed the death of a county resident. The health department said out of respect for the family of the deceased, no further information on the individual would be released.

The health department's Monday report went on to confirm two new positive COVID-19 cases within the county, which brought the total number of identified coronavirus cases in Wabash County to date to 74.

Currently, three Wabash County residents are hospitalized with COVID-19.
