A male's body was pulled from the Ohio River in Newburgh, Indiana on Monday in the area of the Newburgh Lock and Dam.

The Warrick County Sheriff's Office was notified of the body after someone on a tugboat noticed it in the water around 1:19 p.m. on Monday.

The body went through the dam along with the tugboat, which had latched onto the body to hold it until recovery crews could arrive.

"We asked that tugboat to latch onto the body until we could get emergency personnel out onto the water," Warrick County Sheriff Mike Wilder told 44News. "Newburgh Fire launched from here and was able to go out to the tugboat, recover the body and bring it ashore."

Sheriff Wilder says the body is that of a male.

Warrick County Coroner Sarah Seaton said Tuesday that the body had been identified as 16-year-old Jacob Stover, a teen who went missing from Louisville in January.

Stover's autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10.

Following the passage of some scattered rainfall earlier this morning this afternoon turned out to be quite pleasant, albeit cooler overall. After peaking at 73° on Monday afternoon in Evansville, the River City reached just 68° earlier today - obviously a drop of just 5° isn't anything significant from day to day, but that difference signals the arrival of a cooling trend expected to last into the weekend ahead. As for the remainder of our Tuesday, expect our mainly cloudy skies to linger into the evening and overnight hours as temperatures gradually dwindle into the upper 40s for many of us.
