A Washington, Indiana man is charged with murder in connection to the death of his estranged wife. Indiana State Police arrested Edward Fox for his role in the death of his wife Sharon.
ISP says on July 19th, Fox called Pike County dispatch asking law enforcement to conduct a welfare check on his wife. When Pike County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home they found Sharon at the bottom of the stairs.
Police believe days before making that 9-1-1 call, Edward forced his way into the house and pushed Sharon down causing injures that led to her death. An autopsy showed Sharon died from a cervical spine fracture an injury consistent with falling down stairs. The autopsy also showed Sharon had been dead for at least two days before deputies found her body.
During the investigation it was discovered the couple were going through a divorce and Sharon had filed a protective order against her husband. The Pike County Prosecutor's Office issued a warrant for Edward's arrest Monday. He is being held in the Pike County Jail without bond.
